Why do people succeed? Why do people fail? Why do people get what they most fear in their lives?

Many people have heard, in many forms, “focus on what you want, and you will get it.” So many people hear it, and yet few get there. Why? What is it that is stopping you and millions of others from getting exactly what it is that you want in your life?

There are a lot of things that have been said on it, but really the big point that so few get is a simple one.

Focus on What You Want: I want to be successful in my career, I want to have a loving relationship, I want to get an income of $5,000 a month.

Do you feel good about it? If yes, then you are on the right track, and it is a great start. Do you feel bad when you think about it? Then you are focusing on your LACK of it!

If you want to be successful making an income of $5,000 a month, and what you are thinking is “I will never make that much money…” then you are thinking about the fact that you don’t have it and don’t think you can get it!

I will give an example from my own experience. I wanted to be successful, but had some financial issues that made me fear being homeless. My focus was to make enough money to keep my house and NOT BE HOMELESS. So what was the focus? HOMELESS!

What did I get? Homeless. I spent months getting myself back into a condition of having a home of my own, and did get there. But the point was – I got what I focused on, even though it wasn’t what I wanted.

This works in any part of your life. My wife was constantly talking about cancer, and I became a bit nervous about getting it. A couple of years later, guess what? I GOT IT.

This is a lot mentioned in several books related to the www.11newlawofattraction.com 11 new law of attraction. It is really the same thing – whatever you think of most of the time is what you will get. Do you want it? Great! Do you fear it? CHANGE IT!

If you want great health, tell yourself: I want GREAT HEALTH. Do you not want to get cancer, not get other illnesses, not be fat? Think of what you DO want, not what you don’t. I want great health, I want to be fit, I want to be… You get the idea.

If you want to know more about these things, you can read books by Esther and Jerry Hicks, by Kevin Trudeau… Watch The Secret and What the BLEEP Do We Know? All these and a lot of others will get you on the right track.

Remember – feel GOOD about what you focus on. If you think about it and feel fear, feel depressed or upset, it is probably the Lack of it that you are thinking about. Your inner dialogue will say a LOT of where you are going to go in life.

Do you feel that you are a victim? Just realize, YOU CAUSED YOUR LIFE! Things you focused on, even if they weren’t what you wanted, are what came about in your life. It may have been a bit more subtle than such statements as “I want to wreck my car… I want to be robbed…” More commonly, it was fear of those very things that caused them!

Do you have a direction you want to go in life? Decide to go there, feel good about it, and DO IT! I wish you luck and success in your search!

I am an independent inventor, and entrepreneur. It is my wish to help others find their dreams, and get their own success in anything they want in life. People all over the country have heard about the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction has been popularized by the many books written by Ester Hicks and the book “The Secret”. With all that has been written about it, people still can’t seem to make it work for them.

When people read “The Secret” or any of the other books they tend to focus on the concept of desiring something. It’s as if just simply wanting something will make it happen. Sometimes it does and often it doesn’t. Herein lies the frustration with the Law of Attraction, it doesn’t seem to work all of the time.

What’s missing is the “feeling” that is created when you desire something. You see, the ability to manifest is not driven simply by what you want. It is driven by what you want and how you feel when you want it.

Here’s a quick demonstration. Say this statement to yourself out loud, “I now want ____” and fill in the blank with something you do not want, say an illness. Say this phrase out loud and notice how you feel deep down inside. If you’re like most, you do not feel very good or excited. That is because you do not really want the illness.

Now fill in the blank with something you want and you know you can have anytime you want, something simple such as a bowl of ice cream. Say the statement and again notice how you feel. If you’re like most people you probably feel positive, confident that this desire can be fulfilled.

If you want you can repeat the process say one statement first and then the other just to magnify the difference.

Now it’s time for the real test. Repeat the following statement, “I now want a million dollars.” Which way did this statement make you feel, positive or negative?

If you felt a negative feeling then you don’t really believe you can have it and the universe will not provide to you anything you do not want.

Instead, if you felt a positive feeling then you are in alignment with your desire and the universe will deliver the desire to you.

It is all about feelings. To get what you desire, you have to feel positive. But what if you don’t? Then piggyback the statement onto another positive feeling. By this I mean think about something you enjoy, maybe you children. When you have a good feeling inside of you, state your desire for what you want. Repeat this process many times throughout the day until the positive, good feeling is linked to what you desire.

The more powerful the positive feelings you can link to what you desire, the quicker you will see it manifest in your life.

Remember, it’s not about the desire; it is about how you feel when you state your desire. This is the hidden key to making the Law of Attraction work for you.

When you want to feel good, do you make a lot of effort, thinking you have to work hard at it? Law of Attraction states that “that which is like unto itself is drawn”. Working to get into alignment may just not be the most effective approach. To bring yourself more into alignment with Source Energy and raise your vibration, have you ever considered “doing nothing”?

Yes, let’s talk about the forgotten art of resting. By resting I do not mean sleeping, nor is it about meditation. I call this “The art of laying about”. It turns out that Americans, in particular, have a deficit in this area. We are a country of dreamers, of inventors, of entrepreneurs.

So, as you make yet another “to do” list in the endless quest for self improvement, it might be a good time to ask yourself: “When was the last time you just did nothing?” I don’t even mean curling up with a good book or puttering around in your jammies on a Saturday. How about just watching the fire blaze in your wood stove or sitting in a sunny window and enjoying the birds.

In my stress programs I help people to recall and re-experience moments that bring them joy, peace or appreciation. It is restorative to just recall an experience like this, to re-experience it! It also brings us into what Abraham-Hicks calls “The Vortex”. When we just BE and APPRECIATE, there is no experience of resistance or trying hard or pushing against things.

One of my best moments to appreciate and re-experience is the period shortly after the birth of my first child. Those who have cared for infants know, this is hardly a time of “not doing”. It was winter, cold and often rainy. My son had been born a bit jaundiced and I was told to leave him naked in the sun and the yellow tinge to his skin would clear up in a few weeks.

A blissful number of sunny days finally arrived, but it was still too cold to venture outside in a diaper! I set my rocking chair in a sunny window and rocked my son to sleep over my shoulder. As his body was warmed and healed by the sun, I was given the gift of doing nothing. While he slept, I simply rocked and felt the sun on my own body. To this day, I can recall the delicious warmth of the sun, the weight of my child, the smell of his baby body as I surrendered to being at rest.

If you resist the idea of rest, you are not alone. From every direction we are encouraged to make good use of our time, to be efficient and productive. For some, the closest we get to rest is zoning out in front of the TV. Yet, I think we are missing some of the restorative nature of true rest and the benefits of getting into alignment with our Source.

Would you like to give rest a try? Look for inspiration from your animal companions. They live in alignment much more easily than we humans do and they will teach you what it means to rest. Or try putting a hammock or lounge chair out in the sun. Just sip some water or tea and watch the world go by. Think of it as an easy and free way to re-charge your battery.

When you want to raise your vibration and attract more good into your life, the restorative power of rest is an easy one to tap into.

“The Law of Attraction” is a term being used by many self improvement programs. From “The Secret” to “The Great Work,” many groups include this as part of their curriculum. What exactly is it?

The Law of Attraction, in its simplest form, is explained by the statement, “Like attracts like.” It was first made popular by a group called Abraham-Hicks in its self improvement program. This little three-word statement has a wide variety of applications.

The idea of this Law in terms of self improvement is that whatever attitude you put out into the world will be reflected back at you. It may seem to be as easy as changing your outlook to a positive one. In fact, it is every bit as easy, and every bit as difficult as that.

The first trick in learning to apply the Law of Attraction is that you have to train your mind to keep a positive mindset. It’s easy enough to conjure up a feeling of well being in most cases, but the difficulty is maintaining it. In the cases where it’s not so easy to conjure up a positive outlook, like when post-traumatic stress or clinical depression is involved, assistive techniques are sometimes used.

After the brain has been taught that this is the desired attribute, the difficulty is in keeping it. At this stage, it is imperative the user trains himself or herself to not react to negative stimuli. This is the hard part, and it is most often where people fail in applying the Law of Attraction in their lives. We as a society are constantly bombarded with negative stimuli.

It’s not just what’s on the nightly news, either. Bad wiring in homes has been known to create “fear boxes,” or rooms that due to their electromagnetic fields can cause anxiety, hallucinations and even physical illness. Driving a car causes a degree of anxiety. The sounds of alarm clocks, car horns, telephones and doorbells all will often cause an initial panic response.

Ultimately, the trick to succeeding at applying the Law of Attraction lies in one’s ability to remain focused on well being despite all this negativity. Another way of putting it is, “smiling in the face of adversity.” If you can do that, you can succeed at the Law of Attraction.

3 Top Tips For How to Attract Money

Out of all the thingsthat folks wish to attract, money is certainly one of the top Big 3 - which are, as every child knows: health, wealth & happiness.

As someone who has studied the law of attraction, including Abraham Hicks and “The Secret” for the past several years, not to mention ancient Eastern philosophies and metaphysics for decades before that, I feel somewhat qualified to give you my top tips for doing so.

I’m not rich in the traditional sense yet, but I do spend most of my life doing what I love - a large part of which is writing and teaching folks how to live their dreams. For most dreams, this requires knowing how to attract money. Otherwise the “need” to earn it on the traditional treadmill of selling your time by the hour, (otherwise called a “job”), becomes a necessity that can keep you and your dreams apart.

Let’s begin with a “don’t”. I avoid these in my writing as a rule because I think it makes you do it more - as for instance, if I tell you not to think of elephants right now, your mind will doubtless fill with images of the beasts!

However, where the law of attraction is concerned, and especially when it comes to how to attract money, this one is paramount and I can’t think of a better way to phrase it.

Don’t expect money.

It’s that simple. That doesn’t mean money won’t come, but how to attract money is not done by expecting money. You are keeping you & money apart. Why? Because you’re still thinking of not having money!

There’s an old proverb that goes, “Do what you love and the money will follow.” Well it might, but not if you’re doing what you love for the money!

That brings me to top how to attract money tip #1:

How to attract money Tip 1: Love what you do.

That, you will observe, is the reverse of “do what you love.” This doesn’t mean that if you hate cleaning out the cupboards you’ve got to begin enjoying it. It means loving yourself first. Come from a happy, joyful disposition and you will find time flying by and that you are enjoying yourself regardless of what you are doing!

This is relatively simple to do. If you despise cleaning cupbards and it’s a chore you have to do, you will create images in your head of all that you hate about it, and you will resist with all your might.

Instead, listen to comedy or sing at full tilt to your favourite rock stars - do whatever you need to do to feel good as you complete the job. Nowadays, with Bluetooth and hands-free phones, you could possibly talk to your best buddy while you do it!

Okay, next.

How to attract money Tip #2. Find an alternative to worry!

I’ve written an entire book aboutthis, but here’s the idea in a nutshell. Worry, (about anything), is the most useless problem solving notion anyone ever dreamed up. If you have a worrying thought, (that’s to say an uncomfortable tingling in your brain about something), that’s ok as long as you take it as a hint to turn things around!

It’s not a signal for you to dwell on the issue for ever and a day! Doing so is guaranteed to make the law of attraction work to bring you precisely what you are focussing on: lack of money!

Instead, treat it as a signal that you are about to think of a way to be resourceful and find a way to attract money.

Which brings me to top tip number 3.

How To Attract Money Tip #3: Remember you are your biggest resource!

Money isn’t your resource - you are! Money comes to you because you do something that other people value. The secret to how to attract money is to remember that other people value you! They value your skills, your reliability, your talent, your personality and your uniqueness. That’s you!

Frankly, you can always find a way to render yourself of value - and the more you love whatever it is, the more valuable you will be, because you will make other people feel good. Did you know there are people who get paid high fees to clean out other people’s closets because they do it with style and with good humour and they make it fun?

If you think money isn’t coming because your job just made you redundant, you are in the wrong place, dear reader. Your job has very little to do with your power to attract money! It just happened to be the vehicle you’d been using for a while as your meansof how to attract money!

Here’s a few things practically anybody can do to attract money, food, shelter and friendship. None of these require training or qualifications of any sort:

Shop for elderly or disabled people.
Clean people’s vehicles.
Dig people’s vegetable patches.
Clean their windows.
Look after their pets
Give their children a lift to school. (Okay, you need a
drivers’ licence for this).

With a little more expertise, you could:

Put attic bric-a-brac on ebay for folks and split the profits.
(You need a computer and a digital camera!)

Cook for kids parties.

Sing at functions.

Give after dinner speeches.

Are you getting the hang of this? You have endless resources!

Which brings us back where we started! You will be doing something you love.

One final thing, I’d like to point out is something so obvious that no one I’ve ever said this to has thought of it. Are you ready?

You are the only one of you that’s ever lived! No one in the past, present or future has ever thought your thoughts, created your ideas or had your exact experiences or personality. Even if you were an identical twin, you’re still unique!

This makes you the most valuable gem on planet Earth!

And if that doesn’t make you worthy of attracting money in enormous abundance, then nothing does!
